The University of Central Florida offers a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising-Public Relations program through it's Nicholson School of Communication . During the first two years of the program, students complete 60 credit hours of general education courses. The final two years feature 30 credit hours of required core courses in advertising and public relations, 27 credit hours of core electives and a mandatory, three credit-hour internship performing advertising or public relations functions with an independent business or organization. Core courses in the advertising-public relations bachelor's degree program includes mass media research, writing for public relations, public relations campaigns, advertising-public relations law and ethics, public relations case studies and media planning, among others.

Rollins College's Public Relations Program

Located in the outskirts of Orlando in Winter Park, Florida, Rollins College ranks as the #1 master's-level university in the South in America's Best Colleges by U.S. News and World Report. While the school does not offer a degree program in public relations, related instruction is available through the communications minor offered at Rollins College's College of Arts and Sciences.

Minor in Communication

Students in this minor develop skills in critical thinking, decision-making and oral presentation. The program consists of four required courses, including public speaking, interpersonal communication, theory and communication ethics.
