By plane - Boston Logan International Airport is the main gateway to Boston and New England. It is located in East Boston a few kilometers from downtown. All major U.S. carriers serve Boston Logan with extensive flights to major cities across the country. Many European carriers also fly to Boston from their hubs including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic (London), Air France (Paris), Alitalia (Milan, Rome), Lufthansa (Frankfurt, Munich), Aer Lingus (Dublin, Shannon), Swiss (Zurich), Icelandair (Reykjavik) Iberia (Madrid) and NWA/KLM (Amsterdam). Getting to Boston from Asia will require at least a one stop connection.
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is located in Manchester, NH, approximately 50 miles north of Boston. A shuttle bus is available from the airport to the Sullivan Square T stop in Charlestown, with a stop at the Anderson Regional Transit Center in Woburn for connections to the commuter rail. If you do not wish to or cannot take the shuttle, the only way to get into Boston, aside from renting a car, is a bus that runs every few hours or a very expensive cab ride. Note that this airport should not be confused with Manchester International Airport in Manchester, England. (Yes, it has happened before.) MHT serves NH and the northern suburbs of Boston.
By train - Amtrak arrives at South Station, which intersects with the MBTA's Red Line and the waterfront branches of the Silver Line. You can take the Amtrak Northeast Corridor or Acela Express from South Station all the way to Washington D.C. and beyond. Average Acela time from Boston to New York City is 3 1/2 hours, while a trip to Philadelphia takes about 5 hours. Another popular Amtrak train is the Lake Shore Limited service between Boston and Chicago (requiring a layover in Albany). This isn't as high quality or high speed as the Acela, but at around $75, the price is right (note that in order to get the low-low fare, you have to purchase your ticket a few weeks in advance). All Amtrak, and most commuter, trains to South Station also stop at Back Bay Station, which is much smaller, but more convenient to Back Bay, Beacon Hill and the South End. It is on the Orange Line on the subway.
By Bus - Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus serve many cities from South Station but are generally much more expensive than the Chinatown buses, with Greyhound and PPB averaging $30 to New York. However, eSaver fares available online make the Greyhound fare between Boston & NYC as low as $15 each way. The Chinatown buses (AKA Dragon Buses) now use South Station also and serve Hartford, Connecticut and New York City. Fares are competitive, but not as low as they once were (for example, Fung Wah was $10 each way and is now $15). Some significantly lower quality Chinatown buses average $12.50 one way.
It should be noted that Fung Wah Transportation has recently been in the headlines for several accidents involving its buses. It has an extremely poor reputation around the city.
By car - If you are driving in, you may seriously want to consider dropping your car at a lot and taking the "T" in. If you're heading downtown for the touristy sites, you will consider having a car a curse rather than a blessing. Parking at MBTA commuter rail and terminal subway locations is dirt cheap. In particular, the Riverside (Grove Street) stop at the end of the Green D line is right off I-95, and is $3.75 to park ALL DAY. You can even park overnight for something like a dollar more. Commuter rail stations are even cheaper.

From Gardiner, MT, drive south 5 miles on the north entrance spur road to Mammoth Hot Springs Village.
From Norris Junction, drive north 21 Miles/34 kilometers along the main park road (west side-lower loop) to Mammoth Hot Springs Village.
From Tower Junction, drive northwest 18 miles/ 29 kilometers along the main park road (upper side-upper loop) to Mammoth Village.

The only thing that tops the food here, is the view. The Lake House is located right on the lake, in what used to be a marina. The Lake House offers casual dining with a pub-style menu.

Nestled amid lodgepole pine trees is the full service Grant Village Dining Room. The location is certainly nice, but the food will really put you in a good place! Grant Village is located two miles south of the West Thumb Junction.

National Park Service regulations require camping equipment to fit in designated sites. When making your reservation online be sure to book a site that will accommodate your camping equipment. For non-tent campers, you must book a site that will accommodate the total combined length of your vehicle and camping equipment. When calling to make a reservation be prepared to give the size of tent (in feet and inches) or the size of your RV and any tow or towed vehicle separately (e.g the size of your truck in addition to the size of your trailer when fully open.)
If you arrive at the Campground/RV Park with equipment different than that for which you have a reservation, we may not have a site available that will accommodate you. Most campsites in Yellowstone will not accommodate units over 40 feet.

Work is underway to upgrade the electrical hookups throughout the Fishing Bridge RV Park. For summer of 2011, there will be a limited number of sites available with 50 amp service along with the usual water and sewer hookups. The upgrade project will continue into 2012. Therefore, not all sites will have electricity in 2011, but will continue to have water and sewer hookups. Those sites without electricity will be offered at a discounted rate.
The Fishing Bridge Recreational Vehicle Park is located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River as it leaves Yellowstone Lake. The RV park is named after the Fishing Bridge, a wooden vehicle bridge that used to provide a great platform from which park visitors would fish for native Cutthroat trout. Today, fishing is not allowed from the bridge, although visitors still congregate on the walkways to watch White Pelicans and other waterfowl gliding along the river’s surface, and trout swimming under the crystal clear water.

The Fishing Bridge RV Park provides approximately 250 sites designated for hard sided recreational vehicles only. This is because the RV park is located in bear habitat. Because of its location, we ask that RV campers be especially diligent in their compliance with park food storage regulations.
Sites are double-wide with a limited space for slide outs. Recreational vehicles up to 40 feet in length can be accommodated in the sites. All sites are open with back-in access. A pine forest surrounds the RV Park.
Fishing Bridge RV Park offers water and sewer hook-ups at the sites. Electric service is not available at this time, however we do have a limited number of sites that are designated to allow generator use from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.. There is a coin laundry and pay showers in the nearby Camper Services facility. A sanitary dump station is also available near the entrance.
Some of our guided tours pick up at the RV Park including the Circle of Fire Tour, The Washburn Expedition, Yellowstone Lake Butte Sunset Tour and Lamar Valley Wildlife Excursion. You can book tours in advance through our reservations office by calling 866-GEYSERLAND or at the activities desk located at the RV park registration office.
Picnic meals, fast food, and box lunches are available from our restaurants and snack shops. Please inquire at any Xanterra Parks & Resorts food service outlet.

Madison Campground is named for its proximity to the Madison River, which runs through the area in a lush mountain setting rich in wildlife. Madison Campground is at an elevation of 6,800’ and is set in a partly wooded area, with a variety of mostly sunny to mostly shaded sites. The area is known for its great fishing and convenient location with regards to Old Faithful and the Upper, Midway and Lower Geyser Basins.

There are over 270 individual sites and 3 group sites. The campground can accommodate RVs and tents. Campsites for hikers and cyclists are also available.
Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate. Access to water is nearby the sites.
Madison Campground has 14 public restrooms with flush toilets and faucets with cold running water. Dishwashing stations are available at the restroom buildings. Although pay showers are not available on the premises, they are available at Old Faithful Inn (16 miles away) and at West Yellowstone (14 miles away).
RVs up to 50’ long may be accommodated in pull-through and back-in sites. The sites may not be level, so campers should plan accordingly.
While there are no utility hook-ups at the sites, a sewage dump station (which is closed if temperatures drop below freezing) is available at the campground.

Located on the southwest shore of Yellowstone Lake, the Grant Village Campground is situated at an elevation of approximately 7,800 feet in a lodgepole pine forest, just a few miles from the enchanting West Thumb Geyser Basin. This geyser basin is located on the shore of the lake, with an easily navigated boardwalk and trail system providing terrific views of the various hot springs and thermal features. The campground offers a relaxing setting with easy access to many services and amenities. Grant Village Campground is just over 40 miles from Colter Bay.

There are over 400 sites at the Campground, including tent, RV and combination tent/RV sites. There are also 8 group campsites. Campsites for hikers and cyclists are also available. As noted above, the campground is set in a partly wooded area near the southwest shore of Yellowstone Lake. Guests can find partly-shady or sunny sites, depending on availability.
Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate. Water is accessible near the campsites.

Canyon campground is located within a mile of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and is one of the most popular campgrounds. The Canyon Campground is a favorite due to its wooded setting and relatively central location within Yellowstone Park. There are several ways to access the Grand Canyon from the campground. The North Rim Drive provides turnouts and several overlook access points as well as a few views of the stunning Lower Falls. Along the south rim, Artist’s Point overlook and Uncle Tom’s Trail are two other popular points of interest for views of the canyon and waterfalls.

Bridge Bay Campground was named for its proximity to Bridge Bay Marina on Yellowstone Lake. The area is quite scenic, with wooded areas, open meadows and some limited views of the lake. Because of its location, the campground is popular with fishing and boating enthusiasts. The campground offers open sites with few trees or shadier options in the wooded upper loops of the campground. The location is within site of the western shoreline of Yellowstone Lake, and at 7,800 feet in elevation.

There are over 400 regular sites and 4 group sites available at Bridge Bay Campground. Early in the season, several loops are closed to reservations due to potential bear activity. RV, tent and combination RV/tent sites are available. Sites for hikers and cyclists are also available.
Portions of the lower loops of the campground are more open with fewer trees. The upper loops are more wooded, with a combination of sunny and shaded sites. Some sites have a distant view of Yellowstone Lake.
Bridge Bay Campground has 16 public restrooms with flush toilets and faucets with cold running water. Dishwashing stations are located at the rest room buildings. Pay showers and coin laundry facilities are located 3 miles away at Fishing Bridge RV Park.
All campsites have a picnic table and fire grate and water is accessible nearby.
RVs up to 40’ long may be accommodated in pull-through and back-in sites. The sites may not be level, so campers should plan accordingly.
There are no utility hookups but a sewage dump station is available outside the campground entrance near the Bridge Bay Marina.
Pay showers and coin laundry facilities are located at the Fishing Bridge RV Park, just 3 miles north.
The following guided tours have a pick-up point at the Bridge Bay Campground - Circle of Fire Tour, Washburn Expedition, and Lamar Valley Wildlife Excursion. You can book tours in advance though our reservations office by calling 1-866-GEYSERLAND or at the activities desk located at the campground registration office.
Picnic meals, fast food, and box lunches are available from our restaurants and snack shops. Please inquire at any Xanterra Parks & Resorts food service outlet.

There are no specific dining facilities located at the campground. Dining facilities are, however, available throughout the park, ranging from fine dining restaurants to snack shops and cafeterias. Dinner reservations are required at the fine dining facilities. Inquire at any lodging front desk or dining room host stand when you arrive at the park.
