If you are in the market for a new digital camera then a model you may want to consider is the new D3100 from Nikon. It is another addition to the SLR family and is one of the most affordable too. According to some online reviews this new model is great for the beginning digital photography because there is a guide built in that will not only show you how to operate each function but shows you how it will apply to your photos by showing your sample pictures. However, every manufacturer can make their features and specs sound good but does it actually hold up? For the most part, the D3100 does seem to be a very good digital camera.
Pros:
The quality of the pictures is probably the most raved about feature on the customer reviews. With such a high ISO though you have to expect your images will come out pretty well.
The model is also very easy to use so even if you are a beginner or just got a new camera then this will be an easy one to get adjusted to quickly.
When it comes to the weight of a camera, the D3100 is exactly what you want because it is so light weight and very easy to handle as well.
The shutter speed makes it excellent for taking pictures of moving objects or photographing important events like weddings and family portraits. Some digital cameras are notorious for taking up quite a bit of time just to snap the photo.
Movies are shot in full 1080p HD which makes for great looking playbacks.
Auto focus on the D3100 is pretty impeccable too because it can focus off of 11 different points it picks out in a photo.
Cons:
One of the biggest issues customers seems to have this with model is the fact that there is no internal memory. This means you will have to purchase your own SD memory card in order to store any photos or videos. However, in the Nikon's defense almost all video capturing devices are like that today.
There is also no microphone input which kind of puts a damper on things for customers using their digital cameras for movie making.
The D3100 is also becoming known for being slow when showing your images or videos back to you, compared to its competitors.
One thing that might come across as a con to some people is the noisy auto focus (AF) feature. When the camera is continuously trying to focus it does make a noise while it tries to refocus on the photo.
Even with the pros and cons this digital camera is still one of the highest rated in its class of SLR and similar cameras. You can find the D3100 from Nikon for pretty affordable prices and if you shop online you get to take advantage of even more competitive prices then you would find locally. This is what makes a great deal finding opportunity.
