Major Universities Offering Online Degrees

    • The convenience of online degrees makes them an attractive option for students.

A Sloan Consortium research project reports that demand for online classes increased more than 70 percent from the 2008 to the 2009 academic years. Some major "bricks and mortar" universities have begun to offer various degree programs online in order to compete with the new "virtual" schools established for this purpose. Online programs are available at the associate's, bachelor's, and master's degree levels.
