If you have an unrelated BA or MA degree and you want to become a registered nurse, you can get into the fast track and get a nursing degree in one to two years, depending on the school, your education background, coursework already completed and more.

    For instance, the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) admission at Samuel Merritt University in San Francisco is in May and November. For the Sacramento area it is in January. For Oakland it is in May. For San Mateo it is June or January. There are a total of 280 seats available for the ABSN program per year at this University according to their website.

    For the Loma Linda University, you will need a cumulative and prerequisite GPA of 3.3 for the accelerated fast track nursing degree program. The admission deadlines are: Fall-March 31 for Sept quarter start. Winter-August 15 for January quarter start and Spring-November 1 for quarter beginning in March. The cost per quarter is estimated to be about $2,000.
