LiloVeve Jewelry School, New York:
LiloVeve Jewelry School is an acclaimed Jewelry Studio and Gallery located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York City. We offer a wide range of fun and informative classes designed to encourage and cultivate appreciation of handmade work. The LiloVeve Gallery features our collections of hand crafted Wedding and Engagament Bands, and offers custom design and gemstone consultation. We specialize in handmade wedding and engagement rings, custom designed bespoke jewelry, and original pieces for everyday wear. LiloVeve Gallery openings include curated shows of jewelry art along with paint, photography, and mixed media artists explore our various shared sources of inspiration.

Mission:

Our mission is to share and further our community of jewelry artisans by offering a working studio environment for the exploration of design. LiloVeve Jewelry School seeks to provide educational resources and inspiration to those interested in the art.

Programs we offer:

LiloVeve Jewelry School offers a range of courses from Introductory Silversmithing techniques to High Karat Gold Alloying.
Courses are provided in Beginner and Intermediate levels of Silversmithing, Wax Carving (for model making and casting), Enameling, Goldsmithing, and Stone Setting.  Specialty workshops include techniques such as Filigree, Keumboo, Granulation, Chain Making, and more. LiloVeve Gallery showcases a collection of handcrafted jewelry that ranges from one of a kind comission pieces to classical handmade Wedding and Engagement Bands.
The Gallery also features print, photography, and paint media artworks in a revolving show format that explores the shared inspirations between the different types of artistic mediums.

Established jewelry artists:

Tapping into the rich and varied NYC art scene, we invite established jewelry artists to teach as guest instructors, offering students access to a wider knowledge base and different perspectives on jewelry design. NYC is also a vital center for production, gemstone resourcing, and fabrication outsources. We provide a wonderful resource and support network for jewelry students looking to establish their designs and who are working in the jewelry or fashion industries.
about the instructor: Caroline Glemann

Caroline Glemann has developed much of her knowledge of jewelry design and the jewelry industry through first hand experience - from venturing to Colorado to learn Native American beading techniques, seven consecutive years attending the Tucson, Arizona Gem Show working for international gemstone and metals dealers, to designing findings for a company doing production in Bali, apprenticeship to a chief goldsmith for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and finally focus under her own name in Brooklyn NY where she was born. Caroline was a founding partner and co -owner of Studio174 for seven years, before expanding to develop her own Gallery space and Jewelry line under the name LILOVEVE.

She has received notable media recognition including her Platinum/diamond pendant and wedding band set featured in NY Magazine's "Best of NY" 2007 issue under best Engagement Ring, NY.
about the instructor: Sakurako Shimizu

Sakurako Shimizu has a BFA in Design from Tokyo Zokei University (Japan) and an MFA in Metals from Suny New Paltz. Sakurako has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her work has been featued in design magazines such as Kunsthandwerk & Design (Germany) and in the Shanghai Morning Post. Her work is on view at the Julie Artisans' Gallery here in NYC, the Heidi Lowe Gallery in Delaware, and will be included at Love Design exhibition 2009 Salone del Mobil in Milan, Italy and 2009 STRP Festival in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
about the instructor: Shella Robinson

Shella Robinson's one of a kind and limited edition jewelry work has graced many exhibitions nationally and internationally including the Aaron Faber Gallery and Kohler Art Center here in NY. Shella has an BFA in Metals, and an MFA from Suny New Paltz where she taught as an adjunct professor, and has taught numerous jewelry / metals classes at both the YWCA and 92 St Y in NY. Shella is currently associate director at a prominent contemporary Chelsea Art Gallery.
about the instructor: Sayumi Yokouchi

Sayumi Yokouchi was born in Tokyo, Japan and now lives in Brooklyn, New York where she maintains her studio. Sayumi began her studies in jewelry at Cabrillo college in Santa Cruz, California. She received her MFA with honors from SUNY New Paltz, and BFA from California College of The Arts. She has participated in many galleries and museum exhibitions nationally and internationally. She has taught and lectured as visiting artists at many places, including the 92nd street Y in New York City and LiloVeve Gallery in Brooklyn.
